Key Details:
- Duration: About 20 minutes of effective dog sledding per group up to 12 people. For groups of up to 12, the total experience (including training, social time in the outdoor hut, and bonding with the dogs) lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Location: Hemsedal Husky
- Transport: Not included; can be booked at an additional cost. Prices vary depending on group size and transportation options.
- Season: May-June, and late August-October
Capacity & Customization:
- Sled Capacity: 4-5 persons per sled (3-4 sitting, 1 driving), with the option to switch during the ride.
- Number of Sleds: Max 3, including the guide’s sled, with up to 12 people per round.
- Group Size: 5-24 people; larger groups possible with additional arrangements or split sessions.
Practical Recommendations & Guidelines:
- Clothing: Warm clothes, hiking shoes. For bonding with the dogs, avoid light-colored attire.
- Animal Welfare: Due to animal welfare considerations, tours are not conducted if temperatures are too high. In July, only one round may be possible, usually in the early morning or late afternoon/evening during the season.
Combination Options:
- Add hot drinks and snacks in the outdoor hut (gapahuk).
- Organize lunch or other activities (team building, snowshoe walks, etc.) for larger groups.
- We recommend combining dog sledding with serving game stew, salad, bread, mineral water, and coffee.
